Agents urged to support foodbanks in run-up to Christmas

Agents are being urged to support local foodbanks in the run-up to Christmas.

Property PR Jerry Lyons, who has already rallied a number of agents to the cause, is calling for widespread industry support after he and one of his estate agency clients visited the latter’s own local foodbank.

Lyons said their visit was an eye-opener, both humbling and inspiring, with the service providing a life-line to both single people and families.

Lyons said that helping the cause could tick many boxes for agents.

“By offering to be a collection point for donations you’ll drive footfall and goodwill to your office.

“You’ll build new connections in your community – while we were there my client was asked to do a valuation by one of the volunteers, who lives in the best road in town, by the way.

“You’ll have a chance to promote your agency through a news release, social media posts and I’m guessing in some cases, the foodbank’s website. It’s good PR.

“And you’ll be ultimately doing a little bit of good in a world where there’s a lot of bad.”

Lyons has written a generic, easily adaptable press release, suitable to be sent to local papers, and which is free to participating agents.

If you are interested email your postcodes to Jerry@propertyprexpert.co.uk and he will send the news release and guide notes if the area is still available.
