Auction House becomes first to sell 2,000 lots in 2014

Auction House has sold more than 2,000 lots this year – a full four weeks earlier than in 2013 – becoming the first property auctioneer to reach the milestone figure in the UK.

The number of lots sold to the end of last month was 2,069.

The group – which operates through a network of local estate agents and salesrooms –  has also broken another record, with 659 lots entered into its 30 regional auctions during the month of October alone.

Founding director Roger Lake said: “This is yet another phenomenal achievement for the group.

“To be so far ahead of last year, as well as breaking our monthly record of lots entered, is an impressive performance.”

He said that Auction House has noticed that more repossession and receivership lots are now being put into regional, rather than London, auctions. Buy-to-let investors are also returning to sales rooms.
