Awkward questions? Three special resolutions due at today’s NAEA and ARLA Annual General Meeting

The AGM of the National Federation of Property Professionals – now known as Propertymark – takes place today.

We understand that there will be no accounts presented, although EYE’s enquiries have not yielded an explanation as to why not.

There are three special resolutions, according to the agenda.

One is that the presidents of ARLA and the NAEA will be entitled to attend board meetings, but not to vote.

The second is that “retrospectively” the name of the company be changed from the National Federation of Property Professionals Ltd, to Propertymark ltd.

The third is that the accounts will not be presented for approval today, but at an EGM to be held within three weeks.

We did approach NAEA and ARLA for comment on various issues, including staff turnover, but in a joint statement, both declined to do so, citing they would not do so on unsubstantiated rumour and speculation.

Why is anyone a member? They don’t do anything.

    …who cares?

How about a board member, president, president elect, president candidate or fanboy/girl posts why Propertymark as a limited liability company has any relevance these days?

I can’t see any point in joining Propertymark Ltd just so I can buy the insurance products they flog for more than I can buy them  elsewhere (even after they have given me a generous  members’ discount)

Propertymark Ltd could not sound less like a trade association for estate and letting agents if it tried.

We need to care – the alarm bells should be ringing and from what I’ve heard from colleagues there’s a lot in Propertymark that is worthy of investigation

Members pay a lot of their hard earned income and deserve more.

Senior executives at Propertymark appear to be doing whatever they like with no accountability – I’m also aware a lot of excellent members of staff have left, some have been pushed and others have raised greivances

It’s a worry the accounts cannot be presented

Something is not right – maybe we’ll find out the true picture over the next few weeks

Like it or not ARLA doesn’t exist, NAEA doesn’t exist. They’ve become a company and their members have become customers…. end of!
