eMoov and anti-gazumping system named on innovation shortlist

Online agent eMoov and Gazeal, a system designed to eliminate gazumping, were among 50 contenders for Innovator of the Year.

The awards bash was held last night, with other nominees including Desolenator, a way of purifying water very cheaply, and LIC, a breakthrough in iced cocktails.

The eventual winner was a firm innovating postal addressing across the world.

The awards are designed to show London as a rival to Silicon Valley and as a seedbed for new technology start-ups.

So the UK to compete with Silicon Valley presented eMoov.

Are these the same people who pick our Eurovision Song Contest Hopefuls.

Sorry – eMoov being considered for “Innovator of the Year”?

That’s like the Colusseum being put forward for an Italian Architects Design Award, innit?

Emoov did about as well as the UKs Euro vision hopefuls….. To coin a phrase….. “nil point!”

Oh – I’m sorry – last time I checked the wheel had already been invented and was spinning freely.

There’s plenty of spokes left to polish – that’ll do nicely, thank you!

Bu99er, I got all excited and Googled “spokeless wheel” expecting to see nothing and someone has beaten me to it.

You were asking me earlier about the ex Zoopla bloke  who likes to run down pompous, luddite agents.  You found him all by yourself, no help from me.

Haha so there was my dislike!!!

You see thing is I didn’t go in for the award, as there would be NO WAY I would claim or dare claim anything I do or could do would be that innovative to be representing the UK -v- Silicon Valley. I am pretty sure Silicon Valley is not full of Real Estate Agents (for a reason!!)

But as you have a strong opinion tell me what eMoov have done which would make it a “Silicon Valley” worthy outfit, the type people go wow…… what will they do next? that is astonishing!

I have a few things we do differently, enhancing our service, offering something different, keeping ahead of the game, but really….. OEAO Ground breaking…… leading the UK to be recognised world wide! pfft.

Innovation, nice call for Rusty Q and well done for getting the application in, proper cutting edge stuff being done there,. Im told they are going to innovate further at emoov by pulling their stock of RM and Z as they are so innovative their business model doesn’t need them to rely on third parties at all and as part of the innovation they are certainly not just a way for a tiny percentage of consumers to get their property on the portals with the full service EAs, they are so innovative they can use the innovation in their own website, (its all goin’on line innit!) for £500 quid. Innovative people doing what iTunes did for music…

Tell me, 1TB – what “good thing” do you see and why do you envisage it as a benefit to you or anyone else?

Gazeal was actually one of the finalists, finishing in the top 10 for the Best New Innovation category – there were some really interesting businesses there – well done to the winners, what3words and zap&go as the winners of the Best New Innovation and Best New Product categories, and well done to London Innovators for organising the event!
