Estate agency trainer Richard Rawlings sets out on an ‘estate agent survival tour’

Estate agency trainer Richard Rawlings is starting an “estate agent survival tour’ tomorrow.

Rawlings said: “I am convinced 2017 will be seismic for estate agency, both in terms of threats and opportunities. Most agents won’t know what will hit them! So I have arranged a series of seminars over the next six weeks.”

Rawlings said he will be leading a no-holds-barred session that aims to rattle cages across 15 venues in England and Scotland over the next six weeks.

The half-day seminar called “Nailing 2017 – The Essential Survival Seminar for Estate Agents” is described as “a wake-up call for agents facing substantial latent threats that will mature in 2017”.

Rawlings said: “Intense competition, lower transaction volumes, innovative agency models, lower fees and political/ economic uncertainty are already increasingly evident, but are only part of the problem.

“When these are combined with rapidly changing consumer expectations/ behaviour, then the very core of our industry will be affected, and soon.

“Progressive agents who want to secure/ increase their revenues will have to swallow hard and face up to some fundamental shifts in their focus.

“Estate agency as we have known it is well on its way to a complete overhaul and there will be both casualties and victors this year.”

Ed Mead, founder of Viewber and well known industry commentator, will also be speaking on the tour.

Over 300 agents have already registered to attend the events, where places cost £99.
