Ex-Countrywide boss appointed to board of property ‘facial recognition’ start-up firm

Proptech start-up Credas has appointed the former managing director of Countrywide’s estate agency division to its board.

Vince Corley left Countrywide in February and in October joined Nick Dunning and Associates as its head of sales and financial services.

He has now become a non-executive director at Credas, an app which is using facial recognition software to speed up verification for the property industry, for example in tenancy referencing, money-laundering requirements and in Right to Rent situations.

The company has developed a suite of products and services designed to cut the time and cost it takes to verify more than 4,000 types of identification by using real-time facial recognition.

Credas chief executive Rhys David said: “We are thrilled that Vince has decided to join the Credas team to help us with our strategic growth plans for the coming year.

“Having someone with Vince’s experience and knowledge is a great boost for us. His understanding of our product and the difference it can make to the property and lettings market is very validating and we can’t wait to start working with him.”

Corley said: “The cutting edge facial recognition technology Credas uses is amazing and the integration of this product into agents’ systems will alleviate the administrative burden and time wasted for both agents and customers alike.

“It is a game changer in the market and I’m proud to help take the business to the next stage.”

Good grief. Did he really say ‘It’s a game changer’?
