Former agent in court denies seven counts of fraud relating to tenants’ deposits

A former agent has appeared in court, denying seven counts of fraud.

Simon Cawley, 52, who worked for Severn Sales and Lettings in Worcester, pleaded not guilty to all the counts.

The alleged offences are connected to not securing deposit money in ways compatible with the tenancy deposit scheme, and failing to transfer money to various bank accounts.

Cawley, of Kingsbridge Devon, appeared before Worcester Crown Court.

The trial was set for July 30 next year at Hereford Crown Court. A pre-trial review will take place on January 18.
