Hi all, hoping you can help me if this is the right place?!
I have a friend who had an estate agency which had terrible reviews and was eventually fined and barred from the ombudsman, he tried moving to the Property Redress Scheme but then they found out about the fine and also barred him for 2 years unless he paid the penalty. As far as I know he never settled the penalty.
So, he opened a new estate agency under a new name – but never registered the new name with company house and still advertised in Rightmove/ Zoopla and invoiced under the old, barred estate agency (shop and sales boards in new name though). On the new estate agency website and shop he also advertises that he is a member of the Property Redress Scheme but I have looked and he isn’t.
I am concerned for a relative who works under him.
Can anyone tell me is he breaking any laws/ rules or is it just dodgy? It sounds all wrong to me but I do not know what to do.
