A new free webinar has been created for letting agents.

It has been jointly produced by SAFEagent and London Trading Standards.

The webinar features Donald Silcock, vice-chair of London Trading Standards, who takes agents through the requirements of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, offering advice and best practice.

John Midgley, chair of SAFEagent, said: “SAFEagents are already streets ahead of many other agents – they are members of a CMP scheme, they are compliant, and they care about consumer protection, but the law can be confusing, and we wanted to provide an opportunity to share best practice with all.”

Martin Harland, chair of London Trading Standards letting agents group, said: “We know the law relating to the private rented sector can be complex and ever changing which is why we wanted to work with SAFEagent to support agents in helping them ensure they are adhering to the rules.

“Professional agents work hard to ensure they are compliant, but we hope this webinar shows best practice and explains the more complicated areas in the Consumer Rights Act that can commonly cause confusion.”
