Hunters starts to list its properties at OnTheMarket, adding 200 more outlets

Hunters is now listing its properties at OnTheMarket.

The firm is the third and last of the big agencies to have agreed to list on OTM, conditional on a flotation, which now has its properties on the portal which duly floated last month.

The other two are Arun Estates, with 100-plus branches, and Chancellors Group, with 50. Hunters has a national network of around 200, mostly franchised, outlets. Its chairman and co-founder is the MP Kevin Hollinrake.

Hunters is now listing on all three of the main portals – Rightmove, Zoopla and OTM.

Glynis Frew, CEO of Hunters, said: “We are pleased to be able to offer this huge benefit to our customers who can rest assured that with Hunters, their properties will be marketed to the widest possible audience.

“Furthermore, as a franchisor, we are also delighted that this deal brings significant advantages to our 200-plus network of branches, who are very enthusiastic and positive about the news.

“This is a fantastic addition to our service offering that will further help Hunters stand out and gives us a real competitive edge in the market place.”

A spokesperson for Hunters said “ it’s free so we thought we’d do it for a year before dropping it like a stone if they ask for cash . Gives us a year or taunting the competition whilst those who actually invested and started the company can’t advertise on all three “ ….. utter shambles

      Danny,

Why does it bother you? You’e 10 branch firm in northern England has never signed up to Onthemarket?

Are you jealous that they are now on the 3 portals and you are Not?

I would imagine he is empathising with those poor soles who who heroically signed up at the beginning of OTM to champion a potential rival to RM/Zoo committing their hard earned money to a project that was then treated like a shambles. These heroes then rather than given the preferential treatment that they should have been, were forgotten as the need to prop up the share price took preference and the bribing of more high profile agents was needed.

I was one of the original supporters of PrimeLocaton ,dont know how long youve been in the industry but it was a site set up by Ian Springett with the support of Knight Frank , Savills et all . I invested as he said it was portal for agents run by agents , we where the shareholders .If your not aware he then sold it….sound familiar ?

So your 4 year campaign against OTM is based on your hatred of Ian Springett?

I cannot understand why anyone would list with OTM. They had their chance and blew it.

Girl from OTM came over with the “no brainer” sales pitch cos it’s free, innit?

Problem is when asked about basic stuff like number of unique visitors per day/week, how the marketing of £50m ? was going to be spent to increase awareness of the site, etc, etc she was either evasive or just didn’t know.

Left me and my colleague wondering what was in it for us.

So even though I’ve always thought OTM is basically a good idea, the approach and delivery left me with more questions than answers. for example: why bother? why do I want to change my marketing to include OTM logo?

So here’s the challenge OTM, prove you are worth investing time and money in to and we will sign up as paying customers.

    Fair enough?
