NALS launches online-only training for agents

Lettings agents can now get training in issues such as tenancies, deposits and gas safety from the comfort of their own computer.

The National Approved Lettings Scheme (NALS) has launched a Foundation Lettings Course that allows agents to access their training online rather than attending a training centre.

The courses, accredited by the NCFE awarding body, can also be used by those looking to attain the London Rental Standard Badge or those complying with Rent Smart Wales.

The Foundation Lettings course (England) costs NALS firms £200 plus VAT, while the Welsh version costs from £150 plus VAT depending on the number of learners and if you are a member.

Isobel Thomson, chief executive of NALS, said: “NALS exists to promote a safer private rented sector that is better for all. We can help to raise standards by giving agents the very best professional development, which they can undertake without having to leave the office.

“We understand the importance of appropriate training for professionals involved in the private rented sector and the importance of competently navigating our constantly changing lettings landscape.”

Meanwhile, the Tenancy Deposit Scheme has announced new dates for its Academy courses, delivering training on disputes and adjudication to property professionals and landlords.

Dates have been released for its Foundation Course, a full day training session focusing on the key points of tenancy deposit protection, and its Adjudication Workshop, which is a half-day course that teaches property professionals and landlords to “think like an adjudicator.”
