Review of the Week: Why the Local Property Expert was so good

Review of the Week: Spotted on Trustpilot, this five-star review of Purplebricks.

“Very quick and efficient service. Matt was extremely helpful and even saved us money on the property we were purchasing.”

So, could there be more to this than meets the eye?

Indeed so. A Purplebricks spokesperson told us that Purplebricks had actually handled this person’s sale. He was looking to purchase a property in the same postcode, on with another agent. Matt, the LPE, advised on what he believed the property was worth. An offer was submitted and accepted by the vendor, below the guide price.

Does this not breach the law in what our responsibilities are to our client?

No Arthur it doesn’t break the law, you show such ignorance jumping to your conclusions.
Your anger and hatred clouds any rational thinking you may have, it’s a shame you have become reduced to this.

No, it’s a shame Purplebricks didn’t have the correct valuation in the first place. Useless, they under valued a property I wanted to buy – cancelled my viewing for the Sunday on the Friday evening and the vendor accepted £3000 less than I was willing to pay. I had told them I was a cash buyer with nothing to sell but they didn’t tell the vendor this they just cancelled my viewing.

Ha! Agreed! I am one very unhappy purchaser, I would never go to Purplebricks to sell. Never!

This is not industry news people, can we not move the agenda on to how we full service agents can continue to improve our service and performance for our customers and our industry rather than moaning about Purplebricks or whichever online agent is doing something today.

    Get a grip guys!

The on line only nonsense will hang itself because this article is an example of what is happening every day out there. they have their money and just don’t care what the selling price ends up as. If the cheap option is so amazingly wonderful to the public, why are most of the onliners now scrapping up front fees? Because they are not getting enough business. We are more aware in the industry of the on line issue than the public I suggest, thanks to the mega publicity it keeps getting from the property industry media.

Most will crumble when funders really do wake up and realise they are pouring their money into a no hope return and the selling and buying public realise they need professionals to do the job of moving house for them

I am as much against PurpleBricks succeeding as the next agent, however it is a little unfair to jump to conclusions. this reviewer could be using PB to sell but their “local expert” has helped them also with a purchase.

        Oh, ducky…

EYE have made no comment – so what’s your #Purple_Problem?

BTW – the question was a rhetorical one – no need to don’t bore the dangly-bits off the audience with some kind of answer.  We are all painfully aware of precisely what your “problem” is…

IF the company for who the review was submitted wish to put the record straight for all to see, then we would obviously welcome that input.

You really should wind your neck in – you’re looking more and more like some kind of f***ed-up duck/giraffe hybrid!

Is that not a comment? They are jumping to conclusions that the vendor is not the poster of the review are they not?

And your response to BenNorthEast62?  “however it is a little unfair to jump to conclusions”

I would have to assume that they were – for obvious reasons.

You will now see that they have commented.

Yeah, dom-boy – it does “grind my gears” that a vendor MAY have been able to achieve a higher price for their property than THEIR “Agent” secured for them.

It grinds them good and proper.  Just like public transport grinds them.

See – the thing with buses is that you wait ages for one… and then along come a squadron of the bu99ers.

Bit like similar comments in Purplebricks’ Trustpilot reviews – look, here’s one more – that’s THREE IN A DAY:

“…has been very helpful in helping us to buy the property we want. He helped us negotiate a price with the seller.”

This review states I quote ‘he helped us negotiate a price with the seller’ this does not in anyway state that the LPE did anything but negotiate between both parties.
No where does it state he helped to achieve a lower price for the property, it merely points out he conducted negotiations which was helpful.
So I think after this latest debacle PIE might be less inclined to publish pieces on your nod of the head.
