RICS accuses online agent of making ‘baseless claim’

The RICS has placed a statement on its website about a claim being made by online agent HouseSimple.

The statement says: “An inaccurate story is currently being reported by media stating that RICS data shows that online estate agents HouseSimple are 40% more likely to sell homes than their high street counterparts.

“RICS would like to make clear that this baseless claim is a misinterpretation of our data and we will be taking action to put an end to any further reports.”

EYE alerted the RICS to the claim back in February, and the RICS told HouseSimple to take the claim down – which it did.

However, on Monday this week, the claim was apparently used again in conjunction with a press release.

It is this which has prompted the RICS statement on its website.

Purplebricks, eMoov and now HouseSimple, is there a single call-centre firm that can be trusted to comply with the law/ not make misleading comments?

the trouble is even although they will get their knuckles rapped for this, they’ve had their publicity. Bit like ” the jury will disregard that remark” Course they can’t !!!
