Motoring organisation the AA is to start offering mortgages.

A new range of AA-branded financial products will include credit cards, loans and mortgages.

It expects to make its first mortgage available next year.

The AA has teamed up with Bank of Ireland UK, which already has a financial services partnership with the Post Office.

The agreement with the AA will last for at least ten years.

AA executive chairman Bob Mackenzie said: “This new venture builds on the AA’s brand strength and financial services expertise and lays the foundations for the AA to develop a long-term strategic financial services proposition.”
