Trustpilot to remove UK reviews of Purplebricks from American domain

Trustpilot said yesterday – on Twitter – that it is to remove UK reviews of Purplebricks which have gone on to the American site.

It said: “Trustpilot is aware that Purplebricks mistakenly invited UK customers to review on US profile. All reviews posted on the incorrect site have been reported and appropriate action will be taken to remove them to the correct domain. This process can take 7 to 10 days.”

However, the matter descended into farce yesterday when someone in Britain posted up an observation to the Trustpilot compliance team about a review on the US site regarding a Local Property Expert in Ely, Cambridgeshire. His review was taken down.

He emailed the compliance team saying: “England is not in the USA. It is in a place called the United Kingdom. Therefore the review regarding Purplebricks expert Chris Bedhall for Ely in England in the United Kingdom which is not in the USA should not be on their USA site.”

He helpfully attached a ‘Visit Ely’ brochure to prove his point.

However, the response from the Trustpilot compliance team was that as the poster had not been a Purplebricks customer, his review was not valid and had been reported by Purplebricks. Trustpilot said it needed to see documentation to see if the poster had had an experience with the company. If not, his review would have to be kept offline.

The poster told us: “It’s like a Monty Python sketch.”

It’s a comedy…. 7 – 10 Days? Nasa can launch the Space Shuttle, send it into space and have it land back on earth in much less time.

I can’t imagine what could possibly take so long? Log on, press delete, sign off!

    Yadda, Yadda, Yadda…… Trustpilot? No, I don’t!

The fact trustpilot let pb get reviews off their customers before the house has completed is a joke. No one trust’s either company anymore.

I am surprised it’s taking people so long to twig what has gone on here. Let me take a wild guess:

    1. PB are launching in the US

    2. A search for PB by someone in California shows AA reviews, most uncomplementary

    What do you do?

“Mistakingly Invited”. That really does have to be the phrase of the day.

I wonder if the Hatton Garden robbers used that as their defence. ” Honest m’lud, we were mistakingly invited to empty those several bank security boxes”

Its become the daily PB eye, let’s see what we can do today or encourage our readers to do, which puts PB or TP in a bad light.

Wow! that is quite an accusation!

Are you really suggesting Nick, Ros and John are behind a plot to discredit Purplebricks?

    Always up to PurpleTricks.

I challenge AllAgents to create an online agency on their site and call it PurpleTricks. People can then leave reviews on this ‘made up’ agency.

    All for fun of course.

Nope. Pie is reporting that this uk company encourage its customers to incorrectly post on about its new US sister company. I cannot think of any reason why they would want to do this, but clearly it was an error on their part

I think you’ll find that the article makes clear that it is PB PLC who are encouraging their customers to post on the US site. Do keep up.

“Trustpilot is aware that Purplebricks mistakenly invited UK customers to review on US profile. All reviews posted on the incorrect site have been reported and appropriate action will be taken to remove them to the correct domain. This process can take 7 to 10 days.” (My bold)

On average 5 articles a week on PB.

I do worry about the impartiality of this site as some posters seem to have a lot of influence with the editors.

It’s okay.  PurkplebricksUSA’s Trust(?)pilot rating has gone up from 4 to 5*, despite 100% of the reviews being flagged as challenged.  Niiiiiiccceeeeeeeeee.

Well Dom if you support the fact that Bricks have the power to remove posts which they know and have  admitted themselves are true just because  they can and  then you have to question the whole impartiality of Trustpilot to allow them to do that?

    Dom,

If PB or TP were above reproach there would be no stories.

The likes of PeeBee, Chris Wood, Robert May have done a great deal of good for our industry, all they are asking is EVERY agent, or suppler plays by the rules.

    It really is that simple.

As per TP open letter, they explained that PB had actually requested more verification of 5 star reviews than 1 star.

Also by having this ability it prevents the manipulation of competitor agents leaving false and fake reviews as per Allagents.

Why do they nuke a poor review’s within an hour but it will take 7 – 10 days to remove the positive US ones? Hmmm sceptic in me thinks its so they help with the US launch….

So  What you  are saying that  it is ok for Trustpilot to  pass on the responsibilty  of policing reviews  to the company that pays them .Right! You are then relying on the integrity of the individuals in the  company to  research thsoe thoroughly

So I wonder how many  5* reviews have been removed by Bricks ?Unlikley that Turkeys are going to vote for Xmas

They have already shown that they are prepared to get a post removed even though they know its true just because they dont like it  I am sorry but that speaks volumes that it seems all they are concerned with is keeping a high rating

“As per TP open letter, they explained that PB had actually requested more verification of 5 star reviews than 1 star.”

    B0ll0cks.

Unless they can provide evidence that they have requested more than 43x more 5-star “reviews” for proof of “experience” than those asked of the 1-star reviewers (including those which have been #nuked from the site – which incidentally runs into the 000s) then in percentage terms the above is utter, unadulterated MDT.

“…it prevents the manipulation of competitor agents leaving false and fake reviews as per Allagents.”

And your proof of the above statement being factually correct is…?

As I have said before, you are clutching at straws – and your straw bank is rapidly depleting.  In fact, is now patently obvious that all you have left is dust.

Careful – I am not medically trained, but I’ve had a bit Rummage4 the condition, and I believe you’re already displaying one classic ‘Farmers lung’ symptom.

You’re coughing up 5h!t, dom-boy – and lots of it at that.
