Meet the kind-hearted estate agent who battled Storm Doris to help an old lady

Why did the agent cross the road?

But this story is no joke and is a lovely tale of heroism from an agent amid the chaos caused by Storm Doris last week.

An elderly lady was forced to cling on to a lamp post amid the 60mph winds in Walton-on-Thames last Thursday.

That was until she was noticed by Dan Barnett at nearby estate agent HML Shaw. He promptly stepped outside, without even a coat, and helped her across the road.

He told the MailOnline: “She told me her name was Joanie and she’d only popped out for a pint of milk and some Werther’s Originals, but she got out of breath in the wind.”

He dutifully helped her off the post and across the road.

See the video below, taken by Dan’s colleagues.
