Agent empties its charity fund to help woman in need of life-saving operation

An estate agent has handed over a gift of £15,000 for a woman raising money for a life-saving operation in America.

Nina Parsons, 31, and her family were stunned into silence after receiving a phone call from Nick Humphreys, owner of Nicholas Humphreys estate agents in Burton upon Trent, to inform them that the firm was emptying its charity fund to help her.

Humphreys said: “Nina’s cause was highlighted to me and I knew it was one we needed to support.

“We hold a raft of charity events throughout the year from golf days to charity balls and collect all the cash into a big pot.

“We normally then hand out donations to larger causes. However, Nina’s story really struck a chord with me as I have three children – two daughters – and I cannot imagine what her parents are currently going through at this moment in time.

“So we decided to clear out the fund to give the money to Nina and help her get the treatment she needs to save her life.”

Nina’s father said: “It is a truly unbelievable gesture and one that we will be eternally grateful for.

“Donations like the one by Nicholas Humphreys will save Nina’s life.”

A touching story – and one which shows real generosity.
