Westminster Council-backed lettings agency CityWest Residential has donated £30,000 to a local charity to help support youth clubs and training in the area.
CityWest Residential, which was fined £15,000 earlier this year and placed on a London blacklist for failing to display fees properly, has pledged to support the Young Westminster Foundation over the next three years.
The donation was made as part of the agency’s pledge to reinvest all of its profits back into Westminster’s communities.
Phil Barron, chief executive at the Young Westminster Foundation said: “We’re delighted to receive this funding from CityWest Residential which will be distributed to our member organisations through our next small grants programme, supporting our vision that all young people in Westminster to grow up healthy, safe and happy with the best opportunities for brighter futures.
“The funding will enable our members, major youth clubs through to smaller grassroots community groups, to deliver services for young people and we are really grateful to CityWest Residential for providing this support.”
The agency currently also funds an employment service for residents, which last year provided over 150 people with advice and helped over 90 into work.
Oliver Miller, director of CityWest Residential, said: “We are really excited about our partnership with the Young Westminster Foundation, they do absolutely brilliant work across Westminster and we’re looking forward to supporting them over the coming years.
“It’s really important to us that we can contribute to the communities we work in and I fully believe this donation will be a big step in helping us to do this.”
