Business as usual after major UK software supplier bought by global player

Estate agency software firm Qube Global Software – whose roots in the UK stem from SPA Miscrosystems which launched the ground-breaking Aspasia – has been bought for an undisclosed sum by global firm MRI Software.

The acquisition means that MRI now serves 5,500 clients with a global team of over 1,000 employees, including 350 in the UK.

It is one of the largest proptech firms in both the UK and in Europe as a whole.

MRI CEO Patrick Ghilani said: “The union of MRI Software and Qube Global Software establishes a technology powerhouse.”

Qube serves both commercial and residential agency sectors in the UK, including lettings.

Aspasia pioneered cloud-based systems to agents, and was launched by SPA Miscrosystems.

Trevor Youens – who was previously with Chancellors estate agents and then Live – was appointed managing director of SPA in 2009.

SPA was sold to Qube, itself a global entity, in 2012.

In May this year, Youens was announced as managing director of residential solutions – a new role – at Qube.

Yesterday, he told EYE that after the sale of Qube to MRI, it was very much “business as usual”.

Trevor’s one of the best in the business. Agree with you Robert, although being candid I’m a little less concerned about them breaking it !
