Connells announces new training scheme as it reassures staff ‘We’re investing in you’

An expanded training and development team has been established at Connells Group, which is designed in part to see off the online-only challenge.

Connells, which shut its own online brand Hatched last year, says the initiative is designed to provide high quality training for the advancement of employees across the business’s estate agency network.

The enlarged team of 12, headed up by Caroline Richings, will shape training across the group, delivering a consistent approach to training across each of the regions.

In particular, it will share the knowledge and experience needed to deal with market challenges and ensure that high street agents become and remain the first choice for customers.

There will be a dedicated trainer for each division across the entire network.

Richings said: “Training has always been and continues to be heavily invested in and we are proud to introduce our newest additions to our team who are charged with engaging the workforce and nurturing those careers within it.

“Connells Group is a company that places a high value on the training provided to all our people and we look forward to rolling out new and improved learning experiences that are designed to give participants practical experience and to improve, mentor and support those within our business.”

A Connells Group spokesperson said: “Our people are our most important asset and we are fully committed to investing in them, providing the best training and career and development opportunities.”

Agreed…….. but with sales transactions down and nearly 30% of lettings income derived from tenant fees, there is bound to be some collateral damage?

Good to see training taken seriously, however with two brands in the same town, each with area managers for sales/lettings & FS, there are effectively six people doing the job of three.

Add in four + Divisional Directors for the same geographic areas & you have a bloated, unsustainable business model even with all the training under the sun.
