Could online agent offer a free ice cream with every listing?

Can customers of online agent YOPA expect a free ice cream with every instruction?

We were intrigued to see that one local estate agent at YOPA is celebrating one year at Frost Ices.

Step forward Saheem Altaf, whose Linked In profile tells us that he is the local property manager and territory owner for YOPA in Huddersfield.

He is also the founder of Frost Ices, and tells us that a “new and refreshing experience” is coming soon.

We wonder whether it will disrupt the ice cream market?

Clearly a chilled individually who believes he is the cream of the crop and hopes to lick the competition into shape by earning lots of lolly. Lets just hope the doesn’t end up with crushed nuts

Imagine the vendor calling and asking. I’d like to sell my house.

“What experience has your local rep got for the £780 you charge”  – He know’s his icecreams!!  A chilling thought

Or pay more for a experienced agent.

        Mr Mealham

“Or pay more for a experienced agent.”

A quick check on the lad’s background would have shown you that he has, in fact, walked in the moccasins with one well-respected High-Street Agent, as well as another seemingly associated position selling properties in a far-off land.

At over three years of on-screen “experience”, he’s as ‘qualified’ as most of this new breed of property people.

You of all folk should be watchful of getting yourself in bother by making false statements.

          My statements are fine PeeBee.

I struggle to see where a £780 model is one to think is right PeePee.

I see no reason why an ‘experienced’ agent can’t get higher fees.

As a vendor, Id be worried agents who cant pitch a decent fee may not be able to negotiate a best sstc.

            “My statements are fine PeeBee.”

Your “statement” that was, in my opinion, woefully wrong was

“Or pay more for a experienced agent.”

As I pointed out this man clearly is, in your words, “a experienced agent”, or he’s lying on his LinkedIn page – which if that were the case then he risks being professionally destroyed by the uncovering of such an act.

But on the face of it – your comment was out of order.

All’s not lost though –  as in terms of your last sentence, I don’t agree with it.

I wrote it – almost three decades ago.  I use it almost daily.

But… I personally know an awful lot of vastly “experienced agents” who can’t bring themselves to ask for even a few more quid per instruction.

            Their loss is my gain.

Maybe its the new ‘cool’ pricing model to come – sell for just the price of a 99

Ground zero is getting closer and already YOPAs £780 is looking expensive in the race to the bottom to the £499, £399 and lower.

I predict we’ll see list only by many from £49 – £99 which means the current budgets at £500 to £1000 have serious problems ahead selling on the ‘We can save you £***’s models’

Hi Trevor, I thought RM + Z don’t allow “list only” services as that would basically qualify as a private listing model. So by that logic online agents will never be able to offer a list-only service at the price you mentioned. Any online agents offering those kinds of prices must be losing money hand over fist – I guess they’re happy to take the hit in the hope that they reach the mythical “profitable” level by the end of this millenium.

My reckoning is that prices will go to £49-99 for RM and Z. likely subsidized but sellers having to take other services.

Unfortunately you have it all the wrong way around.

You get a free listing with every ice-cream

Nobody just gives ice cream away…

All sounds rather flakey to me…and this story is hardly a scoop…

Coincidentally, I went to buy an ice cream from an ice cream van just yesterday. “Do you want hundreds and thousands?” asked the vendor.

I replied “I’ll just start with the one and see how I feel after that”…

I will give the benefit of the doubt to the ‘Disliker’ that it is purely the first line – or, as normal, anything in general that I post (to which I give not one fuppenny) – they disagree with.  I’m that kind of ‘half full cup’ guy, you see – and cannot bring myself to believe that a post containing a message of well-due congratulations and best wishes would receive negativity.

Some, on the other hand, may wonder what sick, heartless ****wits scurry amongst us.

Yes. I did notice the dislike. Perhaps they are related to the pond life who smashed two of my car windows the night we heard our good news. But you know what….nobody can do anything to take the gloss off that incredible day. Thanks for your kind words.

It’s hard to post positive stuff without coming over as smarmy, sleazy or a suck-up – but the top and bottom of it is that I don’t give a fuppenny what anyone thinks as long as the recipient knows it’s from the heart.

I expect a mahoosive man-hug to be forthcoming on Tuesday, Mr O’D! ;o)
