Countrywide cancels property auction today – and does new deal

Countrywide has cancelled today’s auction in London.

A new partnership means that the lots will now be offered by Auction House London next week on February 22. Nothing has been said about Countrywide Property Auctions itself, or its sales held outside London.

Director and auctioneer Andrew Binstock said: “We’re delighted to announce that Auction House London is now the official auction room for Countrywide stock in the capital.

“Not only does this apply to our forthcoming sale, but also a further six sales in April, May, July, September, November and December this year.

“It’s a really exciting development which has added 13 properties to our record 138-lot February catalogue.”

A spokesperson for Countrywide said last night: “Following a review we have closed the London auctions office.

“We are continuing to service existing clients through Auction House London, a collaboration which will provide Countrywide clients with an exceptional auction service, proved by AHL’s position in the market.

“AHL, like Countrywide, put their clients at the heart of their business. ”

Auction House, which works via a network of estate agents across the UK,  is claiming a new record after entering 703 lots into this month’s list.

Founding director Roger Lake said “Never before has an auctioneer entered over 700 lots into its auctions in a single month.

“It’s a remarkably buoyant start to the year, which signals a noticeable resurgence in auction activity. It means that more sellers are choosing the auction route to market, their confidence levels are raised and the sector is back in the ascendancy.”

Yes another  “transformational strategy” by Plate ! Her version of team playing is to send them on an away trip. Desperate times it seems what sort of message does that  spell out to clients  outsourcing a whole  platform for selling a property !!  Surely this part  of the chain want an expensive overhead!!
