Emoov raises almost double its target from over 1,000 investors as it closes crowdfunding bid

Emoov has now closed its latest crowdfunding campaign – after a late surge of investors.

The Crowdcube campaign, targeted to raise £1m for the online agent, ended up raising almost £2m from over 1,000 investors when it closed at one minute to midnight last night.

The actual sum raised was £1,923,060, from 1,119 investors.

Emoov founder Russell Quirk revealed in a tweet that his “real target” had been to get to 1,000 new advocates/customers.

He said: “Crowdcube is an awesome way to raise money but also a fantastic way to market to the masses.”

It must be hard being Emoov, having to merge with 2 agents the public havent heard of to try and gain market share, then beg under 2000 people to chuck in roughly £1,700 each to keep the doors open for a couple more months. Must gall Russell especially when PB got £125million from one investor.

You are clearly just making up your own narrative to suit your biased opinion.

In my opinion the levels of business that Emoov and Tepilo are doing supports my opinion. Most people have not heard of any of the 3 companies, at best you may get “that company that the lady off the telly runs”.

In my opinion if these companies were going to be successful they would be turning profit by now, they wouldnt need to merge to create the impression that they have reasonable market share.

But for me the biggest question is why dont people want to invest in this company in a large scale? PB as far as i am aware was launched after Emoov and has had huge investment yet still fails to make meaningful money. Without such large investment, without any sense of public awareness, why does anyone think they will make money in the future?

If you have a different opinion, please state why you think this.

Did you know Russell now has only 5% shares in Emoov after this merger?

Who is  currently winning the race for No 2 spot in the online race .Looks like Yopa ? Bricks so  far ahead of the field not even hoving into view  on the horizon.

Just glancing through new listings for July  on Zoopla this morning  Yopa with 731 so far more than double that of Emoov and more than Emoov/ Tepilo /Urban.co.uk including their new lettings combined !

Ewemove and Urban lettings  no doubt looking forward to some free advertising coming their way as the public get confused by the brands

Quote from Robert May over the weekend “It’s hardly sour grapes, there is quite literally nothing to be envious of. Based on  listing volume Emoov are 8% of Purplebricks,  47% of Yopa and 61% of Express Agency. Emoov have 6.2% of the total of those 4 firms.”
