Estate agency boss admits baseball bat charge

An estate agency boss is awaiting sentencing after admitting, on the day he was due to stand trial, a charge of being in possession of an offensive weapon.

Richard Hall, 40, owner of Brooklands estate agents in Newton-Le-Willows, changed his plea to guilty at Liverpool Crown Court.

However, he denied a charge of assault and was rearraigned on it.

Hall, 40, had been charged with common assault and possession of an offensive weapon – a baseball bat – after an alleged argument with a client at his office spilled out on to the high street on July 10 last year.

Hall, of Oak Tree Road, Eccleston, was released on conditional bail.
