Estate agent is listed in grateful acknowledgements by author of new novel

Well, this has to be a first – estate agents being specifically thanked in the list of acknowledgements by the author of a novel.

Author Margaret Graham and her husband Dick found their high stress levels hit the roof when they moved from Buckinghamshire to Yorkshire earlier this year.

We’re talking chains, delays and fall-throughs, obviously.

But Margaret was also trying to hit the publisher’s deadline for her latest novel.

She produces two novels a year, and this one was the final book in her Waterway Girls trilogy, written under the nom de plume Milly Adams.

She not only wrote to thank the agents and conveyancers, but thanked them in the acknowledgements as having helped in the production of the book.

Wye Residential, in High Wycombe, including partner Darrell Litchfield, all the staff and Ian Fergusson who apparently made hundreds of calls on behalf of the couple, should be proud.

And what a great story!
