Ex-letting agent manager facing fraud charges

A letting agent manager has appeared in court facing charges involving letting fees and fraud.

Seun Alliu, 33, worked for Andrews Lettings Agency in Morden, Surrey, between 2011 and 2013. He has been charged with 13 counts of fraud by abuse of position.

His ex-girlfriend Dora Vasas, 28, is accused of eight charges of fraud by false representation. She allegedly assisted Alliu in fraud by forging tenancy details to obtain references from referencing service LetRisk.

She is also accused of the theft of a £500 cash deposit from a tenant.

The pair both indicated pleas of not guilty when appearing at Wimbledon Magistrates Court last week.

Claudius Taylor-Sonko, prosecuting, said: “Some of the premises had been let out to unscrupulous people who used them for purposes such as cannabis factories and brothels.”

Alliu and Vasas were bailed on the condition that Alliu, now living in Hove, does not attempt to contact Vasas, who gave an address in Milton Keynes.

The pair are due to appear at Kingston Crown Court on February 18.
