Average rents in newly agreed tenancies have risen almost everywhere across the UK, referencing firm HomeLet has reported.

The average new rent in the UK is now £916, or £730 excluding London. That is 7.4% higher than a year ago.

The average rent in Greater London is now £1,436 – 7.5% up on a year ago.
