Taxman to hold Q & A session on Twitter for private rented sector

Those friendly people at HMRC are holding a Twitter evening tomorrow for those in the private rented sector.

It will run from 6pm to 9pm and take the form of questions and answers.

Participating in it will be ARLA, Mydeposits and the two main landlord bodies, the NLA and RLA, alongside tax experts.

The Twitter evening comes on the back of HMRC’s announcement that its Let Property Campaign has been highly successful.

The campaign, launched in September 2013, aims to get landlords to come forward voluntarily to disclose previously undeclared income.

It has so far generated additional tax income of over £50m.
