Two directors depart within months of joining top firm

Two directors whose appointments were announced only a few months ago have already left UK Sotheby’s International Realty.

On June 8, the business announced the appointments of three industry heavyweights, including Jack Ballantine and Aree Rand, although it is understood they had actually joined earlier.

Ballantine joined from CBRE Residential UK to become director of the residential development and investment team. His experience included advising on key developments such as One Nine Elms.

Rand joined from Knight Frank, where he had been a partner, to head up north and north-west London’s sales and lettings operation, and was described at the time of his appointment as experienced and well equipped in the handling of celebrity and high-profile listings.

However, both men are no longer with the business. Ballantine is now focusing on the launch of his own property consultancy.

A third director whose appointment was announced at the same time was Guy Bradshaw, who had been a director with Savills. He was appointed director of central London sales and lettings.

Robin Paterson, CEO and joint chairman at UK Sotheby’s International Realty, said: “As with any new role there is always the possibility that a candidate won’t work out.

“Both Aree and Jack have departed the business and we wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours.”
