Woman who dropped charity donations into agent ends up buying £800,000 home

A woman who dropped into an estate agent to donate a couple of coats to charity ended up buying an £800,000 property.

The un-named buyer visited Chestertons, in Kensington High Street, London.

The firm has been supporting the Calling London Winter Coat Drive with its 33 branches acting as collection points.

The coats are being donated to shelters, charities, schools and food banks to help needy people.

A Chestertons spokesperson told EYE: “She came in specifically to drop off some coats and one of our agents started a conversation with her about the sales market.

“She mentioned that she was looking for investment opportunities and our agent knew we had some interesting properties on the books, so she booked a viewing for Saturday and by the afternoon she had offered to buy the property.

“Through further negotiations, the deal was tied up on Tuesday and we are hoping to exchange before Christmas. The property is in Eardley Crescent, SW5 and the buyer lives nearby in Kensington.

“It’s a two-bedroom garden flat, which she’s buying as an investment for her son.”
